CyberPatrol's Research Center offers the latest information and analysis on web filtering technologies and emerging threats. Our research is based on over a decade of information compiled and categorized by SiteCAT, CyberPatrol's proprietary web content categorization engine.
SiteCAT, the core technology for all CyberPatrol products, proactively crawls the Internet, checks each web site, and divides the results into 45 primary categories. Both automated review and human review are key to the accuaracy of this database. It is a proven technology that is continually enhanced to address changing threats and can easily incorporate new technologies.
Accurately categorizing web sites requires good technology combined with human input and review. SiteCAT is CyberPatrol's technology and our FAC(feedback, analysis and categorization) system provides the human element. FAC relies on customer and user feedback, to continually enhance the database. FAC is designed so anyone can look at the status of a site, comment on how it is or should be categorized, and submit that information to CyberPatrol for review. This continuous flow of information keeps the SiteCAT categorization engine both current and accurate.
SiteCAT, CyberPatrol's Internet categorization engine, finds and categorizes objectionable sites and in combination with CyberPatrol's filtering products blocks them before you ever see them. Filtering products are only as good as their content engine. SiteCAT has been gathering data and intelligence for over ten years.
