Naperville Public Library Installs CyberPatrol Parental Controls 7.7 Web Filtering to Protect Patrons

Seamless Integration with Existing Library Management Software Appeals to IT Staff

Harrisburg, PA — Jan. 5, 2010 — CyberPatrol LLC, a leading provider of parental controls and web filtering technologies, announced today the implementation of CyberPatrol Parental Controls 7.7 at the Naperville Public Library in Naperville, Illinois. Naperville Public Library serves 1.7 million people annually. The award-winning software was chosen to protect the library’s patrons and staff who use its 126 computers.

“Naperville Public Library needed a cost-effective solution that meets our policy requirements,” said Frances Tong, IT Manager of Naperville Public Library. “As important, we needed software that would seamlessly integrate with our current library management software. CyberPatrol Parental Controls 7.7 enables us to maintain our current management system while enhancing our web filtering capability. We are delivering more value to our patrons, and doing so at lower cost to taxpayers.”

Naperville Public Library uses library management software called CybraryN, sold by Computers By Design (CBD) www.cbdusa.com. The Library was looking for a web filtering solution that, when a patron logged in to CybraryN, would authenticate the patron and automatically set the appropriate filtering requirements. CyberPatrol and CBD collaborated to develop a solution. Once developed, CyberPatrol provided the appropriate number of licenses and CBD provided the onsite installation and test. The test produced a 100% success rate.

“I spent a great deal of time researching filtering solutions,” added Tong. “The test proved CyberPatrol Parental Controls 7.7 delivers superior web filtering protection. We are pleased with the product, installation and support and feel we made the right decision for our patrons and community.”

CyberPatrol web filtering software is currently installed in thousands of libraries in the United States and Canada.

“Libraries choose CyberPatrol Parental Controls 7.7 on the basis of performance, compatibility with existing software, and cost,” said John Sancin, president and COO of CyberPatrol. “This solution provides library IT managers the flexibility they need to fulfill policy requirements while ensuring access to the Internet’s tremendous resources. CyberPatrol Parental Controls 7.7 protects library patrons while helping staff responsibly manage their IT budgets.”
