CREATING NEW USER PROFILES

Creating Profiles that link to your Windows profiles

The Windows User Name Integration feature provides seamless integration by enabling CyberPatrol to automatically select the appropriate CyberPatrol user profile whenever a user logs on to the computer with their Windows user account. This ensures filtering is in place from the minute the user logs onto the computer.Using the Windows User Name Integration wizard, you can quickly create CyberPatrol user profiles that match the Windows user accounts that already exist on your computer. The wizard can be used if:

  • You have Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista installed on your computer.
  • You have created Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista user profiles for users of this computer.
  • You have not yet created any independent profiles within CyberPatrol, so that the only user profile in existence is Default.

To create a CyberPatrol user profile using the Windows User Name Integration wizard:

  1. Click Create User.
If all of the above are true a dialog appears telling you that CyberPatrol has detected Windows user accounts and asks if you want to create CyberPatrol User Profiles to match

The user profile now has a default level of filtering based the age range that you selected. This is a good starting point, but you can further refine the user profile making it even more effective. To do this simply select the aspect of filtering that you are interested in from Options Menu, then select the user profile that you want to customize from the User Profile list box at the top of the screen.
