You can set CyberPatrol to allow access to particular Newsgroups by adding the Newsgroup address or keywords. This ensures that any Newsgroup with a particular address or an address containing particular words will be allowed regardless of current filtering levels.
Note: You cannot use Instant Override with Newsgroups.
To allow a blocked Newsgroup:
- In the Customize Filter Settings screen click the Customize button alongside Newsgroup Filtering.
- Click My Allowed Newsgroups.
The My Allowed Newsgroups screen appears.
- If you want to allow this newsgroup for a particular user, select the User Profile from the User list box at the top of the My Allowed Newsgroups screen.
- Determine if you want this Newsgroup to be allowed for the selected user only or for everyone who has a profile.
To add a site to a particular profile use the top pane of the My Allowed Newsgroups screen.
To add a site to every profile use the bottom pane of the My Allowed Newsgroups screen
- Click the Add button by the relevant pane.
- Enter the Newsgroup address or Keywords that you want to allow in the Add Keywords dialog, then click OK.
The address or keyword of the Newsgroup appears in the website pane with a green icon beside it to show that it is an Allowed Newsgroup.
- Click Save.
