Use the Behavior Options screen to specify how CyberPatrol works after your subscription expires, how the user interface appears when you open CyberPatrol, and to reset your password hint message.
Subscription Expiration Behavior
You can specify how CyberPatrol filtering works after your subscription expires using one of the following options:
Allow Internet Access
Allows all users to access all web pages on the Internet without any filtering. This is the default behavior.
Block all Internet Access
Blocks all access to the Internet for all users
To change the expiration behavior from allowing all access to blocking all access:.
- From the Options Menu, click Extended Features, then Behavior Options.
The Behavior Options screen appears.
- In the Subscription Expiration Behavior area, click Block all Internet Access.
- Click Save.
When your CyberPatrol subscription expires, all access to the Internet will be blocked until you either renew your subscription or uninstall CyberPatrol.
Headquarters Appearance
When you open the CyberPatrol Headquarters, the Option Menu, located in the left-hand pane, is fully collapsed, or hidden. You can set the to expand each time you open CyberPatrol, giving you access to all of the screens within the Headquarters in one click.To have the Options Menu expanded when you open the HQ:
- From the Options Menu, click Extended Features, then Behavior Options.
- In the Headquarters Appearance section, check the Expand Options on entering the Headquarters check box .
- Click Save.
To hide the CyberPatrol icon from your Windows system tray:
You can hide the CyberPatrol icon so that it doesn’t show in the system tray of the Windows Taskbar. You might do this to hide the fact from your users that they are being filtered. This is useful if a user who has a tendency try to visiting inappropriate sites to see if they can get by CyberPatrol’s filtering.
- In the Headquarters Appearance area of the Behavior Options screen, check the ‘Hide the CyberPatrol icon on the Windows Taskbar’ check box.
- Click Save.
Filter Settings Report
You can generate a report of all your CyberPatrol filter settings for one user or all users with User Profiles. Once generated, this report will appear in an Internet browser, where you can study it on screen or print it out. Having a report of your settings is useful should you ever need to recreate them in future.
To create a report:
- From the Options Menu, click Extended Features, then Report.
The Filter Settings Report screen appears.
- Check the desired user profile option:
All User Profiles - Shows all of the settings for each profile that you have customized in CyberPatrol.
User Profile selected above - Shows the settings of the single profile that appears in the user profile list box at the top of the Report screen.
- Specify the settings you want to appear in the Report:
Time Management
Shows the time management grid with the settings in place for this user.
Web Filtering
Shows the CyberLIST categories and whether they are set to block or allow. It also shows whether there are any allowed/blocked websites or keywords and displays what they are.
Program Restrictions
Shows which programs are listed within CyberPatrol and whether any restrictions apply.
ChatGard Filtering
Shows which Inbound programs are listed and monitored within CyberPatrol and which are not. It also shows keywords that have been added to ChatGard for filtering, if any.
Newsgroup Filtering
Shows the Newsgroup CyberLIST categories and whether they are set to block or allow. It also shows any allowed/blocked Newsgroups or keywords.
Monitoring Level
Shows Monitoring status, either enabled or disabled, and the current level, if enabled.
Instant Override
Shows Instant Override status, either enabled or disabled.

nce you have selected the report settings, click Generate Report.
The report appears inside your default Web browser.
The Report screen lets you obtain a print-out of all of your configuration settings. You can also save a copy the report as a .html file for future viewing. |
